Trade bodies of southern states to meet

MANGALORE: The Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) has convened a meeting of chambers of commerce and trade associations of southern states here on November 5 to strengthen the non-compliance agitation against the levy of service tax on traders, according to A. Srinivasa Rao, President, KCCI. Addressing presspersons here on Monday he said a delegation of KCCI met the Union Finance Minister, P. Chidambaram, here on October 23 and submitted a memorandum in this regard. The minister assured that he would consider the matter on merits.
