CHITTOOR: Agriculture Minister Raghuveera Reddy has urged newly elected municipal chairperson and councillors of the Chittoor Municipality to strive to win the confidence of people. The first meeting of the new council was held on Wednesday. Addressing the meeting, Mr. Raghuveera Reddy said steps would be taken to fulfil pre-poll promises. The drinking water problem would be solved once work on Hundri-Niva project was completed. The first phase of the project was under progress. The Government released Rs. 1,900 crores for second phase. On completion, the project would address drinking water problem in Madanapalle and Chittoor on a permanent basis, he said.
