ADILABAD: Adilabad Collector R. Subba Rao has urged the Cotton Corporation of India (CCI) to start giving minimum support price (MSP) on November 7. He solicited the CCI's cooperation in maintaining law and order in view of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) threat to close the agriculture market indefinitely from that date. The Collector said on Friday that offering appropriate price for cotton was one of the priorities of the administration. He said he would convene meetings of the departments concerned in the next couple of days to solve the issue. On the question of cut in the price offered in the event of inferior quality of cotton arriving at the market, Mr. Subba Rao requested the CCI to be judicious while fixing the rate once the MSP was implemented.
