India Cements' smart turnaround

CHENNAI: India Cements has achieved higher operating profit of Rs. 68.87 crore for the three months ended September 30, 2005 against Rs. 40.91 crore. Sales were higher at Rs. 466.52 crore against Rs. 357.25 crore. The company reported a net profit at Rs. 5.85 crore against a loss of Rs. 17.73 crore in the year-ago period. The company reported a profit after tax of Rs. 11.06 crore for the six months ended September 30, 2005 against a loss of Rs. 35.83 crore in the corresponding period in 2004-05.
