Concerts off

The Akashvani Sangeet Sammelan concerts, scheduled to be held at Vizianagaram on Saturday has been cancelled due to the State mourning for the demise of former President K.R. Narayanan, according to a Prasar Bharati release.

Workshop

The home science department of St. Joseph's College for Women is conducting a workshop on enrichment of early childhood education on Friday and Saturday. According to workshop coordinator Suguna Kannan, topics like developmental level of pre-schoolers, understanding their behavioural problems, nurturing creativity and programme planning will be discussed, for the benefit of pre-school teachers.

Best speaker award

A. Praveena, B.Com. third year student of Dr. Lankapalli Bullayya College, has secured the first prize and best speaker award in the inter-collegiate debating competition held by UTI Bank in Hyderabad on Tuesday, according to principal I. Parthasarathi.

SISI programme

The local branch of the Small Industries Service Institute is organising a five-day management development programme on 'Sales and marketing' at the premises of R.K.
