Coffee and more for patrons

UPMARKET COFFEE houses can no longer be content with serving the refreshing brew in all its many forms. If the one on St. Mark's Road has a bookstore and garment store attached to it, others are trying to appeal to the latest rage in town: theatre. Café Coffee Day had initiated a movement called Thespo to help its patrons interact with theatre groups and artists. An English play, Tara, was staged on Tuesday at its Lavelle Road outlet. The cafe in Jayanagar 7th Block will show a Kannada play, Halagalli Bedara Dange, on November 24. The next day, patrons at the Jayanagar 4th Block cafe will get to watch an English play, Butter and Mashed Banana.
