KHAMMAM: The Indian Air Force will hold a rally in Khammam soon as part of its effort to recruit airmen from low-response areas, according to Sergeant Pavan Kumar Saini. He met the district Collector, Rajendra Narendra Nimje, on Thursday and explained to him the excellent employment opportunities available in Air Force. He emphasised the need for holding a rally in the district. The Collector assured him of all support from the administration for organising the rally at the earliest. M. Saini said that the candidates who had passed matriculation or equivalent examination or Intermediate with 50 per cent marks were eligible to join Indian Air Force in Group Y (non-technical) trades. Those who had completed Intermediate with mathematics, physics and English subjects with aggregate of 50 per cent marks or those who had a three-year diploma in engineering from a recognised polytechnic, could join group X (technical) trades.
For graduates
Opportunities were available also for those who had completed graduation along with degree or diploma in teaching. The age limit for group Y trades is 16 to 20 years and for group X trades it is 16 to 22 years. Information pertaining to selection of airmen in Indian Air force was available in the office of the District Youth Welfare Officer and the District Employment Officer. Interested candidates can get information also from the No .12 Airmen Selection Centre, Bowenpally, Secunderabad.
