Bangalore: Kirloskar Electric Company on Friday clarified that the statement made by the Karnataka Pradesh Bank Employees Federation (KPBEF) that the company had "bad loans" is false.
`Not a defaulter'
Deputy Managing Director of Kirloskar Electric P.S.Malik, in a statement, said, "Kirloskar Electric has no default with regard to any loan to any bank whatsoever on March 31, 2004, nor is it today. We strongly object to the news item which is wholly devoid of truth." When contacted, KPBEF General Secretary H.V.Rai said that the federation had procured the list of bank loan defaulters from the All-India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA), which in turn had sourced it from the Reserve Bank of India. On the denial by Kirloskar Electric, Mr. Rai said he will get in touch with AIBEA and clarify the matter.
