Nishat Khan performs at Raj Bhavan

HYDERABAD:
In a mesmerising performance, noted sitarist Ustad Nishat Khan stole hearts of music aficionados, including several VIPs at Raj Bhavan on Monday.
Ably assisted by Sabir Khan over tabla, the master commenced the programme with Jham-Jhooti Raag and concluded with Gara Raag.
Prominent among those who were present at the programme include K.V. Krishna Rao, former Governor of J&K, I.H. Latif, retired Air Chief Marshal, V.S. Rama Devi, former Governor of Karnataka, P.S. Ramamohan Rao, former Governor of Tamil Nadu and M. Satyanarayana Rao, Minister for Sports. Later, the Governor, Sushil Kumar Shinde felicitated the artistes.
Visiting professor
Ustad Khan is a visiting professor of Sitar at the University of California, Los Angeles and received the Congressional award for his contribution to music and culture from the US Congress.
