Literary fest

The Department of English, St. Francis College for Women is organising an inter-collegiate literary festival "La Fiesta 05" on December 14. The festival will have events like elocution, mock press, essay writing, crossword, quiz, ad-design and debate. Some 40 colleges are likely to participate. `Emu farming'

College of Veterinary Science, Rajendranagar, is conducting a certificate course on "Emu farming" from December 16 to 22 to impart exposure-cum-training on Emu birds and management aspects like feeding, healthcare and farm economics. Series of lectures

The Centre for Indian Studies is organising a series of lectures on "Navya Nyaya Methodology of Interpretation" from December 23 to 31 at CIEFL. They will be given by V.N. Jha, Director, Centre of Advanced Study in Sanskrit, University of Poona. Details can be had on 27098131 - Extn 434).

Biryani at coffee joints

Hyderabadi Biryani is being offered at the Coffee Day Xpress counters, a release from the Xpress has said. It will take on different flavours on different days. On Monday it could be Mughlai, on Tuesday it might take on the Zfrani taste while on Thursdays its flavours could turn Hariali or Chettinadu

Sheep-rearers' protest

Sheep-rearers from different parts of the State on Monday took out a rally here to press their 15-point charter of demands. Their demands include payment of ex gratia for the death of lakhs of sheep due to diseases and insurance cover for animals with State paying the premia.
