CHENNAI: In connection with "Irumudi" festival at Melmaruvathur, Southern Railway is to run broad gauge special trains from Coimbatore, Erode, Palghat Town, Tirunelveli, Tenkasi, Dindigul, Tuticorin, Kanniyakumari, Madurai, Virudhunagar, Rajapalyam, Sivakasi, Srivilliputhur, Dindigul, Tirumangalam, Tiruchi, Kulithalai, Karur, Kumbakonam, and Thanjavur to Melmaruvathur.

Metre gauge trains

Metre Gauge specials will be operated from Cuddalore, Tirukkovilur, Sirkazhi, Mayiladuthurai, Tiruvarur, Nagapattinam, Tiruthuraipundi, and Muttupet.

These services will be available on various dates between December 24 and 31, according to a railway press release.
