Actor Karthik to enter politics

CHENNAI:
After Vijayakanth, who launched the Desiya Murpokku Dravida Kazhagam recently, another actor, Karthik, has taken the plunge into politics.
But he is yet to decide whether to float a party or join a political outfit.
Talking to newsmen here on Wednesday, Mr. Karthik said he had received an invitation from the All-India Forward Bloc (Biswas), which is holding its national conference at Dhanbad next week.
He is likely to meet party general secretary Biswas at the conference and, based on the discussions, will take the next step.
Mr. Karthik said the decision to enter active politics was taken in the wake of the tremendous response he received from various sections of people, for his social welfare organisation, "Sharanalayam," launched by him a few months ago.
