Vice-Chancellor, Registrar appointed for sports varsity

CHENNAI: R. Thirumalaisamy, Dean, College Development Council and Professor of Physical Education, Alagappa University, Karaikudi, has been appointed the first Vice-Chancellor of the Tamil Nadu Physical Education and Sports University, Chennai.

He is appointed for three years or till he reaches the age of is 65 years old, whichever is earlier from the date of his assuming office, says a gazette notification issued by the Higher Education Department's Secretary, K.S. Sripathi. R. Ramanarayanan, regional joint director of Collegiate Education, Tirunelveli region, has been appointed Registrar of the University for three years, or till he completes the age of 60, whichever is earlier.
