HYDERABAD: President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam will visit the State on January 8 and 9. Among other engagements he will participate in the valedictory of the Pravasi Bharatiya Diwas (PBD) here on Monday. An official release said he would arrive at Vijayawada on January 8 evening and reach Bhimavaram by helicopter to attend "Vikasa Sadassu," a meeting organised by the Byrraju Foundation. He will launch the 108 Emergency Care Facility for East and West Godavari districts by handing over the keys to the respective Collectors and inaugurate the research and training wing of the Centre for Rural Transformation. Dr. Kalam will interact with students at Sri Vishnu Educational Society and inaugurate the International Cancer Centre of Mahatma Gandhi Memorial Medical Trust, before leaving by helicopter for Nalgonda district. He will participate in a function organised by NATCO Trust on fitment of floor reaction orthosis before flying in here in time for the valedictory of PBD.
