Now, PC for Rs. 3,500!

HYDERABAD:
A network personal computer costing only Rs.3,500, developed by Novatium, promoted by the faculty of IIT, Madras, is to hit the market soon.
The PC would be connected to a common server and not need back-up or face virus problems, Ashok Jhunjhunwala, professor of IIT, told the 93rd Indian Science Congress here on Friday while speaking on "Academy-Industry Partnership: Working for India: The TeNet experience."
Dr. Jhunjhunwala, who is part of TeNet group, said the PC would be useful in the rural areas. D. Yogeswara Rao, Head of Technology Networking and Business Development Division, CSIR, said a multi-lingual office computing platform that costs less than Rs. 10,000 was ready to hit the market.
