Shinde gives away pravasi community service awards

HYDERABAD: Governor Sushilkumar Shinde on Friday gave away the GOPIO (Global Organisation of People of Indian Origin) Pravasi Bharatiya Community Service Awards on the concluding day of the two-day GOPIO-2006 conference here.

The awardees were Sudha Acharya (USA), Ganesh Chand (Fiji), Diljit S.Rana (Northern Ireland) and B.Raghuram Shetty (UAE). Pavan Kumar Darisi (USA) received a special recognition.

Inder Singh, president, GOPIO International, presented the honorary life membership of the organisation to Mr. Shinde.
