HYDERABAD: Reportedly worried over exposure of his love and subsequent reproach from parents, a 13-year-old boy committed suicide by consuming pesticide. After battling for life for over a week, R. Krishna, a sixth standard student of Saidabad Government High School, died in a private hospital on Thursday. Hailing from Mahabubnagar district, Krishna was living in the house of a retired Revenue Divisional Officer Ranga Reddy in Saidabad. "Krishna's parents knew Mr. Reddy for a long time and the latter was extending financial help for the boy's studies," Saidabad Inspector Rammohan Rao said. A week ago, Mr. Reddy's car driver Bhikshapathi saw a piece of paper stained in blood in the hands of Krishna and asked him what it was. As the boy tried to hide it, the driver became curious and caught hold of the paper. To his astonishment, Bhikshapathi saw the words `I love you' written in blood on the note. When he brought it to the notice of Mr. Reddy, the boy told him that he was in love with a girl and wanted to express it to her through the letter. Mr. Reddy then counselled the boy to concentrate on his studies. "Since the boy did not seem to have heeded his advice, Mr. Reddy told Krishna that he would inform the matter to his parents," the Inspector said. Apparently worried that his parents would chide him, the boy consumed pesticide on January 2. He was shifted to Apollo Hospital in Santoshnagar where he died. The police booked a case of suspicious death.
