Road-widening works apace: Jaju

HYDERABAD:
Road-widening works were in full swing in 55 areas of the twin cities and some 70,000 sq. yards of land was acquired in the last six months as part of the exercise, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation of Hyderabad Sanjay Jaju said here on Friday The Commissioner, along with senior officials of the Town Planning, Health and Sanitation and Engineering wings, inspected the road-widening and sanitation works.
He said that the road-widening works were taken up in localities like Himayatnagar, Falaknuma, Charminar, Ameerpet, Fatehnagar, Jubilee Hills and Banjara Hills, the total area spanning some 57 km, and over 1,000 properties were affected in the process. "We have taken up the works in a cost-effective manner through issue of consent letters and non-cash incentives in lieu of land compensation besides higher FAR and TDR facilities," Mr. Jaju said in a statement.
