Working women's rally

CHENNAI:
Activists belonging to the Working Women Coordination Committee of the Centre of Indian Trade Unions (CITU) participated in a rally here on Thursday, seeking more employment opportunities, curbing sexual harassment at work spots, providing equal pay for equal work, and eliminating child labour and bonded labour.
Beedi workers, tailors, handloom and power loom weavers and fish vendors of Chennai, Kancheepuram, Tiruvallur, Vellore, Tiruvannamalai, Cuddalore and Pondicherry took part in the rally, which was led by M.Bagawathi, organiser of the North Chennai unit.
State CITU general secretary, A. Soundararajan and Working Women Coordination Committee leaders Malathi Chittibabu, Latha and K.Tamilarasi spoke.
