Lavanya Ashok is `Best Student Advocate'

CHENNAI: Lavanya Ashok was adjudged Best Student Advocate at the national round of an international law moot court on Sunday. The third year honours student of the School of Excellence in Law, Tamil Nadu Dr. Ambedkar Government Law University, is participating in the Phillip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition 2006.

Thirty-six colleges from across the country participated in the event, held at Dr. Ambedkar Law College and jointly hosted by Surana and Surana International Attorneys, the International Law Students Association and Manupatra.

Ms. Ashok won a very prestigious award, said a statement from the School of Excellence, thanks to her sustained interest in participating in such events.

She is part of the second batch from the School of Excellence in Law. The institution will continue to encourage students to participate in international events, said the statement.
