13 killed in Afghan blast

KABUL: Thirteen persons including seven policemen were killed and as many persons injured on Tuesday when a suicide bomber targeted a police station in Kandahar, said the Interior Ministry. A Taliban spokesperson claimed responsibility for the explosion. Kandahar, birthplace of the Taliban, and Zabul, Helmand and Uruzgan have been the scene of increasing militancy since the beginning of this year, during which over 60 persons were killed.
