Traffic diversion at Vadapalani today

Govt. officers' union meet takes place

CHENNAI: The Chennai City Traffic police have announced diversion of traffic from Vadapalani to Koyambedu on Wednesday, in view of a procession by members of the Tamil Nadu Government Officials Union, as part of its State conference.

A press release said the procession would start at Aavichi Higher Secondary School, Virugambakkam, at 10 a.m. and pass through Arcot Road, Kamarajar Road, Reddy Street, Kaliamman Koil Street, and Arcot Road and terminate at Koyambedu, where the conference is taking place.

Vehicles coming from Porur and intending to go to Arcot Road have to take the Mount Poonamallee High Road, Butt Road, Jawaharlal Nehru roundabout (Kathipara junction) and Inner Ring Road to reach Vadapalani junction. Vehicles coming from Vadapalani and heading to Porur will have to take the same route in the reverse direction.

Similarly, the movement of vehicles on the stretch of Kaliamman Koil Street from Inner Ring Road up to Arcot Road will be regulated during the procession, the release said.
