New Delhi
Craftsman, performance artiste of the sky and a peddler of dreams, Pierre-Alain Hubert from Marseille, France, is all set to wow Delhi with his sterling pyrotechnics show at the French Embassy here on Friday. Considered one of the greatest pyrotechnic artistes today, Hubert's career spans over 35 years during which he has enthralled people the world over. From Paris to Denver, from Athens to Zimbabwe, people all across the globe have marvelled at his spectacular creations. And now to celebrate the forthcoming visit to Delhi by the President of France, Jacques Chirac, Pierre-Alain Hubert in collaboration with Karl Knapp will present his unique maiden pyrotechnics show in India. In this show, Karl Knapp pays homage to Bharatanatyam -- as the artiste paints the gestures or `mudras' of dancers -- while Hubert breathes life or "prana" into them through his inimitable display of fireworks. The performance will later travel to Chandigarh, Hyderabad, and Pune. Hubert's displays are an intricate combination of fireworks, music, fire and movement. -- Gaurav Vivek Bhatnagar
