NEW DELHI: Delhi Police today claimed to have busted a piracy racket with the arrest of a man and recovery of thousands of pirated VCDs, Inlay Cards and two VCD copiers from his godown. The North District Police, on a complaint received from Satish Kapoor, Chairman of Prime Protection Pvt Ltd, of infringement of their copyright by illegal sale and production of cinematograph films, raided the basement of an Old Lajpat Rai Market and arrested Dalip Kumar Malik, a Delhi Police release said today. Interrogation of Malik alias Billa, aged 45 years, led police to his godown at Shastri Nagar where 1362 pirated VCDs, 25950 Inlay Cards and two VCD copiers were recovered. Malik revealed that he was in the illegal trade since 1992. He further disclosed that he had floated a company named M/s Dash Film Pvt Ltd in 2003 with three other directors. Malik has been arrested several times, police said.
