Water supply to be affected

NEW DELHI: On account of repair work, water supply will be affected on Friday evening at Inderpuri, Mayapuri, Khyala Booster Pumping Station, Naraina Village, Naraina Vihar, Krishi Kunj, Dus Ghara and Ramesh Nagar.

The supply will be available at low pressure on Friday at GH-12 Paschim Vihar; B-3B Block Janakpuri area; 356/GH-4 SFS Paschim Vihar; and DB-Block LIG Hari Nagar area due to annual flushing.

Due to annual flushing of booster pumping station and underground reservoir, water supply will be available at low pressure on Saturday at GH-13 Paschim Vihar; C-2B Block Janakpuri area; DA Block LIG Hari Nagar; and Patel Nagar area.

Water tankers will be available on telephone: 28525659 (Janakpuri); 25274679 (Paschim Vihar); 25711129 (Rajinder Nagar); 25193140 (Shivaji Enclave); and 26193244 (R.K.Puram).

Social worker passes away

NEW DELHI: Premvati Sharma, a prominent social worker and mother of Congress MLA Mukesh Sharma, passed away here on Wednesday.

A large number of people including Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee president Ram Babu Sharma, Education Minister Arvinder Singh Lovely and Power Minister Haroon Yusuf attended the funeral.

A Shradhanjali Sabha will be held at Mr. Mukesh Sharma's residence in Vikaspuri on February 17.

Seminar on Dalits

NEW DELHI: National Dalit Brotherhood Association is organising a national seminar on ``Demand for Due Share for Dalits in the Budget" at India International Centre here this Friday. Former Prime Minister V.P. Singh will be the chief guest.

The seminar is aimed at bringing about a shift in the perspective of schemes implemented for the Scheduled Castes.

Musical evening

NEW DELHI: A musical evening with well-known pop singer Usha Uthup is being organised by Kalyanmayee -- a women's welfare association of the Airports Authority of India (AAI) -- at Talkatora Stadium here this Friday.

The evening will also see a performance by K. Sathyanarayanan, a talented keyboard artist. AAI Chairman K. Ramalingam will be chief guest. The proceeds of the evening will be used to provide material support to those who have suffered during natural calamities as well as cancer and HIV patients.
