NEW DELHI: Protesting against what they claimed to be an illegal and motivated enquiry committee constituted by the governing body of Swami Shraddhanand College, members of the College Teacher's Association have announced that they would go on strike from this Friday. The Association also claims to have the support of the non-teaching staff members of the College. The College Teachers' Association maintained that they tried peaceful means for a week to reason out with the governing body chairman, Surender Kumar. "His action to enquire `Attendance and Internal Assessment Marks' of one teacher of Economics Department, on the basis of a complaint of a retired teacher, who submitted an unrecorded letter directly to him instead of following statutory procedures and proper channel, was unethical and motivated,"said president of Swami Shraddhanand College Teacher's Association Suraj Yadav. The matter will be raised in the Staff Council meeting of February 13.
