NEW DELHI: Virender Sehwag's fitness will be assessed during nets at the Ferozeshah Kotla here on Sunday. Sehwag had complained of back pain during the third Test against England at Mumbai early this week and was reported to be a doubtful starter for the forthcoming seven-match one-day series. According to National selection committee chairman Kiran More, the opener was picked purely on the basis of the medical report submitted by John Gloster, the team physio, who was convinced that Sehwag would be fit from the first match onwards. The series begins with the first encounter to be played here on March 28. "As far as we (selectors) are concerned, Sehwag is fit to play in the one-day series and that is the reason why he is in the team,'' said More. On his part, Sehwag said he was looking forward to the match. Sports Reporter
