Fourth victory for Black Arrows

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM : Black Arrows completed its engagements in the Thiruvananthapuram district `A' division football league on a winning note at the Central stadium on Saturday.

Black Arrows notched up its fourth win in the league after defeating Tekeycee FC 2-1. Black Arrows, with 14 points, remains at the top. However, its title hopes will depend on the result of the SMRC-Keltron tie on Sunday.

Bindhu snatched a late winner for Black Arrows after volleying home from top of the box in the 82nd minute. After a goalless first half, Black Arrows went ahead in the 39th minute through Vinu. However, Shibu restored parity for Tekeycee in the 47th minute. Black Arrows pressed hard and got the winning goal it deserved.

In another match, RBI defeated Keltron Sports Club 2-1 to record its third win. Robin (54th) scored for RBI after a goalless first half.

Shamir nets winner

Jerry kept Keltron's hopes soaring for a while by scoring the equaliser in the 51st minute. But Shamir spoiled the party by scoring the match-winner for RBI in the 67th minute.

Kooriyal Brothers defeated Junior Breee 2-0 in the Videocon Kozhikode district football league on Saturday. In another match, Cosmos SC edged out District Police 2-1.

Hockey trials
