BANGALORE: The Government on Tuesday announced in the Legislative Council a Corps of Detectives (CoD) investigation into the leakage of postgraduate CET question papers relating to medical and dental courses of Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS). Making a suo motu statement, Minister for Medical Education and Animal Husbandry V.S. Acharya said that the Government had received the T. Anjana Murthy Committee report, which went into the issue. The report had confirmed some of the apprehensions expressed by members in the House on Monday, he said. Considering the onus on it to undo the injustice done to honest and deserving students taking the examination, the Government had decided to repatriate all those persons involved, including the Registrar of Examination of the university, to their parent departments, Dr. Acharya said. The committee has traced the track record of all the 22 rank holders on the basis of their performances in SSLC, PU, Common Entrance Test, MBBS, COMED-K test and All India Entrance Examination and expressed its suspicion over the first 16 rank holders.
In abeyance
The Government has decided keep the results of the first 16 rank holders in abeyance and clear the rest for the further process of selection. It had also decided to issue show-cause notices to all 16 rank holders.
