New Delhi: Samajwadi member of Parliament Chandra Bhushan Singh on Saturday filed a writ petition in the Supreme Court, questioning under what authority Navin Chawla was holding office as Election Commissioner.

In his petition seeking Mr. Chawla's removal, he also urged the court to restrain the Commission from acting on complaints against the Commissioner on which the President had sought opinion.
