Commodity prices

The following were the prices (per kg) of essential commodities in the local wholesale market on Saturday, according to the Vijayawada Chamber of Commerce and Industry: Groundnut oil - 52.50, palmolein oil - 41, sunflower oil - 48, tamarind (flower variety) - 28 to 33, tamarind - 42 to 49, chillies - 30 to 35, rice (2716) -13, rice (super fine) -15, rice (sona masoori) -16 to 17, rice (samba masoori) -15 to 16, black gram - 41 and red gram - 24.70 to 30.50.

Summer painting camp

Reserve Sub-Inspector M. Ashok inaugurated a summer painting camp organised by Spoorthi Creative Art School on Saturday. Ch.V. Satish and T. Amrutha were given the `best budding artist' award on the occasion. Art head G. Srinivas, principal G. Sneha, artists Durgamalleswara Rao and A. Chakradhar were present.

Praja Padham programme

Vijayawada West MLA Sk. Nazarvalli received representations from the public as part of Praja Padham programme in municipal divisions 32 and 34 on Saturday. Corporators K. Sudharani and S. Sailaja to active part in the programme. Twenty-five representations covering a wide range of problems were received. Corporators G. Koteswara Rao, D.V. Ramana Babu and Praja Padham team leader Z. Srinivasa Rao participated.
