No Pilloor supply

Supply of drinking water under the Pilloor scheme will not be made on June 8 and 9 owing to maintenance works, a press release from the Tamil Nadu Water Supply and Drainage (TWAD) Board said on Tuesday.

The supply would resume at night on June 9, the release said.

Grievances meeting

The Superintending Engineer, Tamil Nadu Electricity Board, North Coimbatore, will conduct a consumer grievances meeting at the Executive Engineer's Office at K.Vadamadurai on June 7 at 11 a.m.

Competitions

The Institute of Forest Genetics and Tree Breeding conducted drawing and painting competitions for children in connection with the World Environment Day on June 5.

One among the topics for the competition was "Save water and save environment." G.P Sharma, Chief Instructor, Airforce Administrative College, Coimbatore, was the chief guest.

He distributed prizes to the winners.

Celebrations

Sadhana Sadhan will organise "Lord Subramaniya's Avathara Dinam" celebrations at the Vadavalli Veera Matre Amman Temple on June 9 at 4 p.m. Abhishekam will be held and Archanai Arunagirinathar's 108 Thiruppugazh songs will be rendered in over 60 Carnatic ragas by 100 devotees.
