Village panchayats asked to hold special meetings

KANCHEEPURAM: Chairmen of special village panchayats in Kancheepuram and Tiruvallur districts have been asked to convene special meetings to decide whether their local bodies should be reclassified as town panchayats or as village panchayats.

The Kancheepuram Collector, Pradeep Yadhav, and Tiruvallur District Collector Ranveer Prasad directed the chairmen to pass a resolution in this regard and forward to the same to the State Government.
