KOZHIKODE: District panchayat president K.P. Kunahmmedkutty has said that projects will be included in the programmes of the panchayat to encourage the reading habit. He was speaking after inaugurating the Reading Week celebrations being organised by the Information and Public Relations Department at the Town Hall here on Monday. He opined that reading habit among the public could be increased if literacy programmes and the library movement were made part of the political movement as in the olden days. He said the new educational policy would encourage teachers to read and study more. The use of electronic media to increase reading must be encouraged too. District Collector Rachna Shah presided over the function.
