Container terminal workers call off strike

CHENNAI: A section of the workers who were on strike at the Chennai Container Terminal Limited for the last 15 days called it off on Thursday. According to Ennarasu Karunesan, Chief Executive Officer of the CCTL, workers returned to duty from Thursday evening. Near normalcy in operation would be returned in a day or two as no vessel was waiting, he added. The workers were on strike in support of their demand for reinstatement of seven employees who were removed from service.
