Meet on ration distribution during Onam

KOCHI: A district-level meeting of the civil supplies officers and representatives of ration dealers will be held at District Panchayat Hall on August 16, for smoothening the ration distribution during Onam and for solving the complaints related to ration distribution.

The ration cardholders in the district can submit complaints related to the public distribution system at the meeting, District Collector A.P.M. Mohammed Hanish said.

All cardholders belonging to below poverty line (BPL) category will be distributed 25 kg of cereals, including rice and wheat. The Anthyodaya Anna Yojana cardholders will get 35 kg of rice. Houses with electric connection will get 2 litres and houses without electric connection will be given five litres.

The above poverty line (APL) category will get rice for Rs.8.90 per kg, while the BPL and the AAY categories will get for Rs.3 per kg. The price for wheat is Rs.6.70 and Rs.3 respectively, while sugar will be available at Rs.13.50 and kerosene for Rs.9.20 a kg.
