CHENNAI: Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Kerala and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Lakshadweep and north interior Karnataka. Mainly dry weather prevailed over coastal Andhra Pradesh.

The chief amounts of rainfall recorded in centimetres are:-

Udupi 6, Karkala (Udupi dt.) 5, Dharmasthala (Dakshina Kannada dt.) and Panambur 4 each, Belthangadi, Mulki, Bantwal and Subramanya (all Dakshina Kannada dt.), Mangalore, Mangalore Airport and Londa (Belgaum dt.) 3 each.

Forecast (Valid until Saturday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places over coastal Karnataka and at a few places over Kerala, Lakshadweep and south interior Karnataka. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, Andhra Pradesh and north interior Karnataka.

Forecast for Chennai City and neighbourhood (Valid until Saturday morning): Partly cloudy. Possibility of shower or thundershower in some areas during evening or night.
