Rupee declines
MUMBAI:
The rupee ended marginally weak against the U.S. currency on Thursday on fresh dollar demand by oil PSUs after global crude prices once again rose above the $70 per barrel following an UN warning to Iran.
In a lacklustre trading at the interbank foreign exchange market, the rupee opened lower at 46.5450/5550 a dollar as compared to the last close of 46.51/52 . Later, it moved in a range of 46.5200 and 46.5600, before ending at 46.53/54 a dollar, a shade lower than the last day's close.
The Indian unit also ended weak against the British pound and euro, while it held steady against the Japanese yen. PTI
