Two convicted for forgery

Bangalore:
The Special Judge for CBI Cases, Bangalore, has convicted two persons charged with criminal conspiracy, cheating, forgery, falsification of accounts and criminal misconduct.
Judge A.L. Pujar sentenced K. Srinivasa and M.V. Krishnappa to two years simple imprisonment, a fine of Rs. 25,000 each and a six-month imprisonment in default of the fine.
According the case registered by CBI, K.V. Venkataswamy, Srinivasa and Krishnappa, while they were office-bearers of Bagepappli Rural Development Society, Kolar, siphoned off funds of Rs. 1.26 lakh by fabricating documents to show the money was extended to Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes beneficiaries under the government's sericulture training programme.
Mr. Venkataswamy died before the case was disposed of.
