Visakahpatnam: The University of Mysore on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Indo-American institutions, recognised since 2002 as an outreach campus to introduce new courses. Mysore University Vice-Chancellor J. Shasidhar Prasad told presspersons here that after signing the MoU they were happy to have such student and faculty exchange programmes. As part of the MoU, the group would introduce PG courses in biochemistry, biotechnology, information technology, food science and nutrition. A centre for learning and development would be set up to offer short-term programmes with a duration of two to six months for students, teachers and other professionals. The Indo-American research group has its campus at Sankaram in Anakapalle town. Group chairman V. Pujari said for all the courses offered under the technical supervision of experts, the University of Mysore would offer certificates. Their institutions are offering MBA, Ph.D and hotel management courses. Mr. Prasad said the objective of the university was to recognise institutes with infrastructure and experience as outreach campuses to enable all sections to pursue research and higher education. UNI
