Prisoner dies

Coimbatore: Bharatidasan (48), a prisoner from Salem district, died in the Open Air Jail at Singanallur here on Thursday.

Bharatidasan, who was sentenced to five-year jail in an attempt to murder case, reportedly collapsed on the jail premises in the morning.

Cardiac arrest

He was rushed to hospital but was declared dead. According to prison sources, he died after massive cardiac arrest.
