Distressing

It is distressing to note that following the Kerala High Court's order quashing the ban on the manufacture and sale of Pepsi and Coca Cola there have been attacks on their godowns by political activists. Destruction of stocks will not affect the soft drink manufacturers because they can claim insurance. Since no other State has banned the manufacture of the soft drinks, and no serious health hazard has been reported on their consumption, there is no point in banning them.

M.S. Nair,
Palakkad, Kerala

Democracy is all about choices. Let the people decide what they want to eat or drink. Politicians should stay out of such issues.

John Sohan,
Alappuzha, Kerala
