CBI must probe if money was used in Bihar poll: Lalu

Patna: Rejecting former Defence Minister George Fernandes' charge that Sonia Gandhi and the UPA Government were behind the FIR against him in a defence deal, Railways Minister Lalu Prasad on Wednesday said the CBI should also probe if the alleged kickbacks were used in the Bihar assembly election.

``Where did such a huge amount (Rs 2 crore) go? There is every possibility of the money having been used in the recent Bihar assembly election,'' Mr. Prasad, told newsmen.

``After all, Mr.Fernandes the convenor of the NDA, had been working overtime to bring the coalition to power in Bihar,'' he said and demanded that the agency probe include this aspect also. — PTI
