Tight security for Fiji meet

NADI (Fiji): The Government of Fiji has stepped up security arrangements for the meeting of Pacific Islands Forum starting here on Tuesday, which will be attended by 16 regional leaders who will discuss a road map for solving regional issues. Fiji's Foreign Affairs Minister Kaliopate Tavola said the Government has beefed up security, especially for New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark. He played down concerns over political and security issues, saying the situation in the country is calm. — Xinhua
