TRS calls for bandh on November 1

Special Correspondent

HYDERABAD: The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) is making determined efforts for the success of the first-ever bandh call it has given in Telangana districts on November 1, the Andhra Pradesh Formation Day.

The party has given the bandh call to express its resentment over the golden jubilee celebrations to mark the formation of the State. It had observed the day in the last few years as the `betrayal day' by hoisting black flags but this year it decided to call for a bandh.

A. Narendra, TRS MP, told reporters here on Sunday that party leaders would contact all sections of people, particularly traders, to observe the bandh. They would hold meetings to mobilise cadre to enforce the call. The cadre would go round the State capital and other important towns elsewhere in the region on October 31 to appeal to people to participate in the agitation. The RTC would not be allowed to operate its fleet.
