Old is gold

Recently old hits like Devdas & Don were remade and many others are on line. Apparently today's producers are suffering from a strong notion that due to advanced technology they can surpass the old ones. They should understand that no one can replace Dilip Kumar, Prithiviraj, Ashok Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Madhubala, Meenakumari or Nargis.

New-age techniques and technology lavish budgets may enhance their face value but not intrinsic value.

AP Online counter

There are several colonies in Bakaram area. But there are only two eSeva counters at Chikkadapally municipal market and at Musheerabad near Gandhi Hospital which cater to these colonies. There is one AP Online centre too which always remains closed and serves no purpose.

Residents are mostly senior citizens and since these eSeva centres are far-off; they face difficulty in paying water cess, power tariff and telephone bills. I request the authorities to open an AP Online centre to cater to these localities.

Bus pass renewal at eSevas

This is regarding to the stoppage of renewal of bus pass at eSeva centres which was being done till last month. Suddenly, the renewal was suspended without stating any reason. Although there are regular bus pass renewal counters, they are overcrowded. Are there any alternative arrangements being made to ease the overcrowding counters?

Ease overcrowding in buses

At peak time in the evening hours, commuters at BJR bus stop on the Lakdikapul-Khairatabad road face many problems to board overcrowded buses coming from Mehdipatnam towards Dilsukhnagar /L.B. Nagar / Hayathnagar. To provide seats to commuters stranded at various overcrowded bus stops and enable them for convenient travelling, APSRTC officials introduced "Sorry No Service Please" buses last year in the morning peak hours, which yielded good results. Similar facility is required for the commuters, especially the employees in the evening also, to reach their destinations without waiting for long. .

MMTS service

Now that the euphoria over the completion of 40 years is over, the railway must improve its MMTS services in the twin cities. Three years after its introduction MMTS has matured into a popular mode of commuting in the twin cities.

It will be a great service to the commuters if the frequency of MMTS trains are increased during peak hours. The number of coaches too should be increased.
