HYDERABAD: Two brothers of Syed Mohammed Abed Ali alias Ali Bhai who is sought as `most wanted criminal' by Andhra Pradesh Crime Investigation Department (CID) were arrested on Saturday night on the charge of involving in kidnapping cases of two schoolchildren in the city. The city police arrested Mohammed Jafar Hussain, (30), and Arshad Hussain, (36), at a house in Shahlibanda. Jafar was involved in the kidnapping case of seven-year-old Satish Kumar of Langer Houz on February 12, 2004 while Arshad was involved in the kidnapping of a ninth-standard student Sumedha at Jubilee Hills on March 23 in 2001. The police later rescued the children. Ali Bhai hatched the plan of two abduction cases, the police said.
Five others absconding
Jubilee Hills Inspector M. Srinivas Rao said 11 of the 16 accused persons, including Arshad, were arrested so far. Five others were still absconding. The gang kidnapped Sumedha in a car while she was on her way to the school at Jubilee Hills and demanded Rs.5 crores as ransom. The girl was later rescued from a farmhouse at Zaheerabad in Medak district. In another case, Jafar and Ali Bhai hatched a plan in Dubai to kidnap Satish Kumar while the boy was playing in front of his house at Langer Houz. Police said Jafar came to the city six months ago. Police sources said Ali Bhai, who is presently hiding in Dubai, was involved in several kidnappings at various cities in the country. He executed abductions through local gangs. He and his brothers belong to Zaheerabad in Medak district. His associates Mirza Asad Ali, (25), and Mohammed Naveed, (26), both residents of Golconda and Ahmed Hussain, (26), of Budwel in Ranga Reddy district were caught by the city police on October 23, 2005 for reportedly planning to kidnap two city-based businessmen.
