Cancer awareness

CHENNAI: The Government Stanley Medical College will be conducting a month-long programme on the theme `Be Aware Fight Cancer'. Students will take out an awareness rally from the Collectorate to the Stanley Medical College on Tuesday at 9 a.m. There will be an interactive programme with students, members of the public and specialists on cancer in the auditorium of the

college at 10 a.m.

There will be a gastro-intestinal cancer-screening programme for the public at the outpatient department between 10 a.m. and noon for every day of the month starting Tuesday.

Extension counter upgraded

The Indian Overseas Bank, Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board Extension Counter, was upgraded as a branch on Wednesday and would function from Ayodhya Kuppam, No. 5, Kamarajar Salai.

UK varsity admissions

The Head of the School of Engineering and Applied Science of Aston University, United Kingdom, Ashok Kochhar, will be counselling interested students at the office of the Mancomp Professional Services Pvt Ltd on Friday.

Nurses training programme

Frontier Lifeline will send two nurses to Asahi General Hospitals in Japan for a month of training, following an MoU signed with the hospital earlier. Japanese cardiologists and surgeons will be undergoing training in Frontier Lifeline's units in Chennai and Kerala. Last month, Japanese nurses and a cardiac surgeon had undergone training for three weeks.

Civil services counselling

Free eye

testing camp

The Punjab Youth Association will organise a free eye testing camp on the birthday of Guru Nanak, Prakash Utsav, on Sunday at the Gokale Hall, YMIA Building, 66, Armenian Street, between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m.

The association also provides free homeopathic medicine at 44/2, Armenian Street.
