Team to press for quota Bill

Staff Reporter

BANGALORE: To urge the Union Government to implement the women's reservation Bill, a delegation of women members of the Karnataka Panchayat Parishat will go to Delhi on November 24.

The delegation, led by Parishat president Magadi Kamalamma, will meet President A.P.J. Abdul Kalam, All-India Congress Committee president Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and submit memorandums seeking 33 per cent reservation for women.

Addressing presspersons here on Tuesday, Ms. Kamalamma said it was unfortunate that the Bill had been pending for a long time.
