Congress to cooperate with Trinamool

Special Correspondent

KOLKATA: The Congress in West Bengal will go ahead with its plans to cooperate with the Trinamool Congress in movements against the ruling Left Front's "anti-people" policies, including the decision to set up an automobile plant on farmland at Singur in Hooghly district, Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting Priyaranjan Dasmunshi said on Sunday.

"We will continue having understanding [with the Trinamool Congress] both in the State Assembly as well as outside," he said.

The future of a sustained joint anti-Left campaign between the two parties largely depends, however, on whether or not the Trinamool Congress dissociates itself from the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance, the Congress leadership has maintained.
